We know that people who love movies also love travel, good beer, tasty food, cool clothes and keeping up with the weirdest, craziest corners of pop culture. From cult classics to new blockbusters, from the latest TV shows to this week’s comic books, from the BBQ to the brew pub, Badass Digest is there finding the best and most interesting for the badass generation.
What is a badass? A badass is someone who is unique, uncompromising and dedicated to following their vision. A badass is someone blazing their own path, someone setting the standard. Fashion and fads come and go but badass is forever.

Devin Faraci A ten year veteran of writing for the web, Devin has built a reputation as a loud, uncompromising and honest voice – sometimes to the chagrin of his readers, but usually to their delight.
Tim League Tim is the founder of Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, co-founder of Fantastic Fest and was named by the Austin American Statesman as “one of the most unusual CEOs in Texas history.” He likes to eat really good food, drink really good beer and sing really bad karaoke but is getting slightly better at it.
Henri Mazza Henri has been the creative director at the Alamo Drafthouse for the past six years. He loves all things narrative whether they’re books, movies, comics, music videos, video games, or commercials that make him cry.
Meredith Borders Meredith is the managing editor of Badass Digest and the Alamo Drafthouse. She’s into writing, making stuff, starting dance parties, dressing in costume for the flimsiest of reasons, drinking beer and eating brunch.
Roger Erik Tinch Roger is a tech-centric cinephile with an unhealthy addiction to the web as well as the developer and designer behind Badass Digest. He also curates an online gallery of film posters at reelizer.com.
Brian Collins Brian, aka BC, has been watching horror movies since the age of 6, and twenty years later decided to put it to good use, both as a writer for Bloody-Disgusting as well as launching his own site, Horror Movie A Day, which Roger Ebert once read and misunderstood the points that were being made.
Film Crit Hulk FILM CRIT HULK WAS CREATED IN A CHAOTIC LAB EXPERIMENT INVOLVING GAMMA RADIATION, TELEPODS, AND THE GHOST OF PAULINE KAEL. NOW HULK HAVE DEEP AND ABIDING LOVE CINEMA.
Bill Norris Bill Norris is the beverage director for the Alamo Drafthouse, The Highball, 400 Rabbits and Midnight Cowboy. Before joining the Drafthouse family, he tended bar in New York, London and Austin and created award winning cocktail programs at FINO and Haddingtons. His novel Snapshots, was published in 2001, is currently out of print, and can be purchased for a mere one cent on amazon.com.
Jim Hughes Growing up in London, Jim spent several years on the customer side of the bar enjoying everything about British pub culture. He is now head bartender at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar and has been pouring beer there since it opened in March 2005.
April Swartz April is a Texas native, granddaughter of Spanky’s little sister from the Little Rascals, initiator of arguably inane meme: Donna Martin Cryfest, homemade special effects enthusiast, and devotee of all things film and writing (only recently did she opt to marry the latter).
Phil Nobile Jr Phil’s an aging geek in Philadelphia who likes watching, talking, and sometimes writing about movies, with an emphasis on cinemarchaeology. And making up words. He’s also available for special events and children’s parties.
