This little science fiction film has a lot to say.
Coherence was one of my favorite films at Fantastic Fest this year. It's an intimate science fiction film that's rich in ideas and compelling performances, and it's downright riveting at times. Coherence won the New Wave best screenplay at FF, which is funny because much of the dialogue is improvised, but the concept behind the film is so strong that the award still feels well-deserved. Check out our exclusive teaser; it gives a great sense of Coherence's structure and premise.
On the night of an astrological anomaly, eight friends at a dinner party experience a troubling chain of reality bending events. Part cerebral sci-fi and part relationship drama, COHERENCE is a tightly focused, intimately shot film that quickly ratchets up with tension and mystery.
Coherence was written and directed by James Ward Byrkit, and it stars Emily Baldoni, Maury Sterling, Nicholas Brendon, Elizabeth Gracen, Alex Manugian (who also conceived of the story), Lauren Maher, Hugo Armstrong and Lorene Scafaria. The film hits theaters and VOD June 13th from Oscilloscope Laboratories; take a look at the one-sheet and trailer below!
