Snape creates punk rock's original breeding ground.
Who would have imagined that this would be how the story of CBGBs, the seminal New York City club that was ground zero for the punk revolution, would be told. In a mom movie. A movie with an arch and hopeful tone that can - and will - play in malls. Theaters in malls that are right next to the Hot Topics that now sell Ramones shirts.
Will CBGB, starring Alan Rickman as Hilly Kristel, the man whose establishment changed culture forever, be any good? Probably not, but who knows. Here's what I can tell you from this trailer: it will have none of the energy, the drive, the anger, the edge or the fun of punk rock. Joey Ramone would spit on this movie.
