Could ENLISTED Be STRIPES: THE TV SHOW?

A new Army comedy comes to Fox.

I'm biased here: Enlisted creator Kevin Biegel is a friend of mine. That said, if you told me there was going to be a slobs vs snobs Army comedy that featured Keith David, I'd still be really excited to see it. The fact that my friend created it is only the icing on the cake.

Ignoring the trailer voice guy I see a show that's picking up the baton from Stripes' wonderful first half. There haven't been a lot of (any?) good Army comedies since the heyday of M*A*S*H, which is too bad because military comedies were once a staple of TV. McHale's NavyHogan's HeroesPhil Silvers Show (aka Sergeant Bilko) are some of the best comedies of the past (and there was even a Laverne & Shirley cartoon called Laverne * Shirley In The Army, where their superior officer was a pig named Sergeant Squealy. Look it up), so I'm excited to see a new effort in the genre.

What do you think? I'm a sucker for slobs vs. snobs comedy, so this is right up my alley. Does the trailer work for you?
