JURASSIC PARK 4 Is Closed… For Now

The sequel has been delayed, but not yet canceled.

JURASSIC PARK 4 Is Closed… For Now

Everybody thought that Universal trying to release Jurassic Park 4 next summer was a little bit ambitious. Turns out everybody was right. The film has been indefinitely delayed, according to a statement from the studio:

"In coordination with filmmakers, Universal has decided to release Jurassic Park 4 at a later date giving the studio and filmmakers adequate time to bring audiences the best possible version of the fourth installment in Universal’s beloved franchise. We could not be more excited about the vision that Colin Trevorrow has created for this film, and we look forward to watching as he and the producers create another great chapter in this franchise's storied history."

According to Borys Kitt the script for the film was only finished two days ago, and it's way bigger than anybody anticipated. Apparently the studio liked the script enough to give Trevorrow time to actually make it correctly - a truly rare thing in a studio system that sees filmmakers smashing up against ridiculous deadlines to make release dates decided by marketing.

This is all good news, I think. Then again, I'd also consider the cancelation of Jurassic Park 4 to be good news, so what do I know.
