I'm super thrilled to team up with Nordling over at Ain't It Cool to bring a screening of Cloud Atlas to Houston! We both saw the film at Fantastic Fest and lost our minds over how much we loved it, and he worked it out so that we can show BAD/AICN fans in Houston the film for free!
Cloud Atlas is a stunning film, a truly brave piece of filmmaking that manages to be both heartfelt and cerebral. It's an astonishing achievement by the Wachowskis and Tom Tykwer, and I'm dying for you guys to see it too so we can all geek out over it afterward! Read Devin's review. Read Hulk's review. Watch the Fantastic Fest Q&A with the Wachowskis.
So here's what:
The screening will be held at 7:30pm on Tuesday, October 23rd at the Edwards Marq*E theater in Houston. Nordling and I are each giving away 125 seats in a 200-seat theater, so arrive early because we overbooked to ensure a full house! In order to get a pair of tickets, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line "Cloud Atlas Screening" and in the body of the email, include your name, whether or not you're bringing a guest (no kids - the film's rated R) and why you want to see this movie. I'll reply with a confirmation by Tuesday, October 16th if you're on the list. If it turns out you can't attend after you've received a confirmation email, please be nice and let me know! We seriously want to fill this theater up with lucky film lovers. Nordling and I will be double-checking our lists to make sure there are no duplicate names.
Oh man. This movie is going to crush you guys, I guarantee it. I can't wait!
