SKYFALL Poster Shakes Faith, Tests Loyalty, Sucks Eggs

What the hell is this?

SKYFALL Poster Shakes Faith, Tests Loyalty, Sucks Eggs

Someone pointed out that I ask a lot of rhetorical questions in my posts. I'm fine with this! You'll never see me pretending to have the final definitive word on anything, and though I don't mean to come across as a fence-sitter, I like to think I'm open to new ideas and having my opinion totally reversed by a thoughtful debate. You'll almost always find me asking you what you think, as opposed to telling you what to think.

But today, I'm asking sincerely, not rhetorically: What is this shit?

I couldn't be more excited for this film, and they go and ruin my fun with this piece of fan art. It's junk. Devin's been talking about the popular culture getting worse lately, and when I see this phoned-in nonsense I'm inclined to agree. I know it's just a poster, not indicative of the film's quality, but the current state of one-sheets is starting to eclipse the Floating Head Syndrome of the '90s. For some perspective, have a look at this poster art from 1977's The Spy Who Loved Me. Look, and despair.

In other Bond news, a lot of sites are saying Adele is "confirmed" as the singer of the Skyfall theme, but every article traces back to a source whose wording is really vague, with the subsequent sites adding their own details along the way, so I'm treating it as rumor until we hear something official.
