I Am Deeply Concerned About The Title Of JJ Abrams’ STAR TREK Sequel

Star Trek Into Darkness.

No, there's no typo. I didn't leave out the colon. That, supposedly, is the title of JJ Abrams' Star Trek sequel. Star Trek Into Darkness. It's like a little sentence. A bad little sentence.

This name, first broken by Coming Soon and confirmed by Trek Movie, tells us nothing about the film, its plot or its quality. But it does make me sad because it's a deeply bad title, a silly naming convention altogether. Is the next film Star Trek To The End of Time? Or Star Trek To Zanzibar? Or Star Trek Across Space? Using Trek as an actual word in the title is so goofy, so bad... as Jordan Hoffman mentions on Twitter it simply brings to mind Addams Family Values or Live Free or Die Hard.

Maybe the movie's going to amazing, but I do hope they give the title another think.
