Trailer For Barry Levinson’s Icky-Looking Found Footage Horror Film, THE BAY!
Despite being found footage this looks pretty durn good.
Barry Levinson has directed some really great movies: Diner, The Natural, Tin Men, Sleepers - but the last few years haven't been as kind to him. In fact his last two theatrical movies were Man of the Year, which is horrible and What Just Happened, which is really bad. He recovered a bit with the HBO movie You Don't Know Jack, and now it seems like he's tried something really, really different. The director of Rain Man has made a low budget found footage horror movie that, buzz says, is really gross.
And it looks pretty cool.
I'm not a fan of found footage, but the trailer above makes it seem as if Levinson is using it correctly. And the premise - icky parasites eating people from the inside out - sounds totally fucking awesome.
The movie is premiering at Toronto and then opening in November. I can't wait to see it.
