Celebrate the fight against bigotry with some subversive art.

In Support Of The Chick-Fil-A Kiss-In: Same Sex Disney Smooches

Yesterday was 'Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day,' where hundreds of bigots lined up to support the fast food chain's stance on gay marriage (they're super duper against it, and they spend money to fight it). Today pro-decency people are engaging in a unique form of protest: they're staging same sex kiss-ins at Chick-Fil-A restaurants. I like the theatricality and simplicity of this protest. They're rebuking hate with love.

In solidarity I present to you a series of paintings of Disney characters engaging in same-sex kisses. They're by José Rodolfo Loaiza Ontiveros, whose Disasterland show - made up of paintings of Disney characters in subversive situations - will be appearing at La Luz de Jesus gallery, which happens to be my local art gallery. His paintings are on display (and on sale) now through September. Click here to see the entire catalogue.
