The darkly comic doc about African blood diamonds and government corruption gets a trailer.
I love what Drafthouse Films is doing. Even if they weren't our sister company I'd be psyched about their releases. They run the gamut from the ridiculous - Miami Connection - to the sublime - Bullhead. And from what I understand The Ambassador is somewhere right in the middle. Danish documentary filmmaker Mads Brügger went undercover and bought forged diplomatic papers to expose corruption, diamond smuggling and even murder in the Central African Republic. But this isn't just an expose - Brügger is famous for his wit, and I've heard the film described as kind of Borat with a real agenda.
The movie is coming to theaters August 29th but will hit VOD first on August 3rd. Here's the awesome poster; above is the trailer.
