Do we need another American Godzilla? We're getting one, whether we like it or not. The good news is that it's being directed by Gareth Edwards, a guy whose Monsters showed that he really understands how scale matters in giant monster movies.
The film has been kind of hanging around, with no certain date or start of production, but Latino Review has learned that Legendary Entertainment will be doing a Godzilla presentation at Comic Con on Saturday July 14th. They're not spilling the beans, but I would expect to see the new design of Godzilla revealed. I'm excited, and hopeful.
Also on that panel will be another kaijufest, Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim. That's a movie upon which I'm placing a lot of my 2013 blockbuster bets.
