It's a sort-of-sequel to KNOCKED UP.
I am 38 years old and found very little to identify with in the trailer for Judd Apatow's latest, This Is 40. That doesn't mean the movie is bad or something, it may just mean my development is highly stunted.
The movie is a spin-off from Knocked Up, following the lives of Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann's characters as they hit 40. The trailer is funny, and I look forward to the movie (it isn't as though I need to personally identify with every character in a movie. A good story allows us to identify in different ways). Going off of only what I see here, this looks like a more restrained Apatow (which is saying something, as the trailer has Paul Rudd asking Leslie Mann to look at his taint), tackling more adult things. He sort of tried that in Funny People, and that's part of what made that film feel like two movies.
This Is 40 hits Christmas. I'll be 39 then; maybe I'll identify more.
