Food And Cocktail Porn From The New Austin Drafthouse Cocktail Lounge 400 Rabbits

Get ready to be really hungry and thirsty! We are thrilled about the opening of Slaughter Lane and its adjacent, stand-alone cocktail lounge, 400 Rabbits. The menu looks incredible and the below photos of the food and cocktails are a sign of all of the outrageously yummy business to come. Trust this: I am going to eat and drink ALL OF THAT.

From the press release:

Long awaited photos of the food and drink items that will be on the menu at 400 Rabbits, the stand alone cocktail lounge that will open along with Alamo Drafthouse Slaughter Lane, are now available.  The cocktail lounge will have its grand opening on March 22nd along with Alamo Drafthouse Slaughter Lane.  400 Rabbits, whose name is derived from the Aztec goddess Mayahuel, will serve a bar menu centered around agave spirits (tequila, mezcal, sotol) and food inspired by Latin American street fare.

Alamo beverage director Bill Norris took a sabbatical to Jalisco last year to learn the production methods and history of Tequila and to prepare the 400 Rabbits menu.  Executive Chef John Bullington has created a selection of snacks that pair perfectly with Bill’s tequila-centric bar offerings.  "The food is inspired by interior Latin American street food while using fresh and local ingredients" said Alamo Drafthouse Executive Chef John Bullington.  Although the cocktail menu features a wide variety of fine sipping tequilas and innovative tequila and mezcal cocktails, The 400 Rabbits will also offer a full line of other spirits.

"My intention with the cocktails is to showcase all the wonderful and different flavors found in different agave spirits," said Beverage Director Bill Norris, "to emphasize the different characteristics of different tequilas, mezcals and sotols."
