The Scandinavian Nosebleed Is Not A Cocktail In This Week’s Holy Hunter of Music Videos

April brings us hot new music videos from Young Dreams, Arizona and Secret Music.

The Scandinavian Nosebleed Is Not A Cocktail In This Week’s Holy Hunter of Music Videos

Further evidence that Scandinavia cannot be stopped with another great offering from Director Kristoffer Borgli for Young Dreams' latest, synonymously titled track. My instinct is to draw a link between these children and Eli and Oskar from Alfredson's Let the Right One In. While I'm certain "The Floor Is Lava" is found universally satisfying at this age, that crimson downpour of a nosebleed sure would throw a sobering wrench into their play date. Sadly the Norwegian dream-pop collective's debut LP isn't available until next year. In the meantime, I'll find us all a link to the rubber Bart mask.

Ben Wigler, former alum of the band Arizona (no relation to the gargantuan ass cans of tea), has a new solo gig called New Beard that takes flight with the help of Director Jenny Palén in the handsome video for "Given." In the video, a dapperly dressed young fellow takes a solo scenic route through lush landscapes complete with pit stops to hug the local livestock and marvel at shipwrecks. Needless to say, we should all be reconsidering our own routes home from work.

Secret Music's video for "T.O.Y.S." is a carefully timed, hilarious hodge-podge of television clips and semi-forgettable movie moments courtesy of TV Carnage. I'm delighted to see they're finally getting some mileage out of that vicious dummy "Fats" from Magic (voiced by Academy Award Winner Anthony Hopkins). And because my parents made the mistake of taking three preteens to see Sliver in the theater, I also spotted Billy Baldwin consoling a covert camera-violated Sharon Stone near the end. Lend a helping hand for those I may have missed, readers.
