ZOMBIELAND To Rise Again - As A TV Series

The fairly popular movie finds itself headed to TV screens.

ZOMBIELAND To Rise Again - As A TV Series
Last night's The Walking Dead broke records for basic cable viewership (not general viewership; I have seen people claim it was the highest rated TV drama ever - sorry guys, Bonanza had a 41 share in its day), which probably has something to do with Fox's decision to move ahead on a TV show based on the movie Zombieland.

The show will be created by film writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who are having a good day (it was also announced they'll be writing Micronauts for JJ Abrams) and produced by Gavin Polone. Polone said that they had been working on a sequel, but a TV show would scuttle those plans.

A weekly Zombieland? It sounds like just a funny version of The Walking Dead. I wonder if the show can find a strong narrative that gives it a purpose. I'm assuming it'll be the same characters as the film, simply recast (unless Woody Harrelson needs the work).

My advice to Zombieland: The TV Series? Rip off Police Squad's opening credits and have a different guest star die every week.
