Who knew that The Karate Kid soundtrack was so influential? Apparently it had a big impact on hip hop artist/producerKaimbr who not only regards the film’s composer Bill Conti as an idol, but also created a full beat tape album using samples from parts 1 and 2 of The Karate Kid. In the video below Kaimbr waxes poetic about his favorite pieces, the genius of pan flutist Gheorge Zamfir, other Conti soundtrack masterpieces, and the man that he would name the mixtape in honor of (and Jackie Chan only wishes he could be): Pat Morita.
