I haven’t read the book Moneyball because I hate both money and balls, but I understand that it’s a stats and business-oriented look at the game of baseball. How to make that into a movie? I don’t know, but the Sony marketing team certainly made it into a fucking crackerjack trailer. Mixing in elements of underdog sports films like Bad News Bears and misunderstood genius movies like The Social Network, they’ve come up with a trailer that makes me really, really want to see Moneyball.
