The idea of Roland Emmerich, one of the most gleefully dumb directors working, tackling the ‘mystery’ of who wrote Shakespeare’s plays sounds like a joke from an episode of The Critic. But it’s real! All too real! And it’s coming! In fact there’s a trailer for it now; you can tell this movie is serious because it uses electronic-period Radiohead in the trailer.
Anonymous actually looks very pretty, but also fantastically dumb. I hope it makes a ton of money.
