Chinese Military Propaganda Uses Clip From TOP GUN

Somehow they managed to not use a clip soaked in homoeroticism, though.

Chinese Military Propaganda Uses Clip From TOP GUN

Last week the Chinese state television station CCTV ran a story about their flyboys - a real national pride piece. But in the middle of all the Chinese nationalism was one weird moment. The piece used footage from Top Gun!

CCTV has taken the segment down from their website, but it’s preserved on YouTube. The Wall Street Journal has done a side by side comparison of the clips - it’s a plane being shot down in what the television report claimed was a live fire exercise.

And so once again Maverick comes when he’s a top… er, I mean comes out on top.

Thanks to Ian for the tip.
